Privacy Policy
The short version
- We never ask for your name, email, phone number, contacts or photos.
- If you join the leaderboard, the only thing shown publicly is the username you choose.
- The game shows ads to stay free. Our ad partner, Google AdMob, uses device information to show and measure ads. You can limit this.
- Flipside is for players aged 13 and over.
- You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
Who we are
Flipside is made by Alyro Studios, based in New South Wales, Australia (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the Flipside app collects, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the Flipside app on iPhone, iPad and Android.
What we collect

We don't collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise GPS location or microphone input.
Ads
Flipside is free because it shows ads through Google AdMob. Some ads are optional, such as watching an ad to continue a run or double your gems. Others appear occasionally between runs, unless you've bought “Remove ads”.
- We set AdMob to show only ads suitable for teenagers and block categories such as gambling, dating and alcohol.
- iPhone and iPad: the game asks your permission before ads can use your device's advertising identifier. If you say no, you still see ads, but they aren't personalised using that identifier.
- Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of ad personalisation, in your phone's settings under Google → Ads (or Privacy → Ads).
- Europe and the UK: you're asked for consent before personalised ads are shown, and can change your choice at any time from the game's settings.

Who we share information with
We don't sell your personal information. We share it only with services that help run the game:
- Google AdMob for ads (Google Privacy Policy)
- Google Firebase for the leaderboard, cloud save and anonymous analytics (Firebase privacy)
- RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases (RevenueCat Privacy Policy)
- Apple and Google, which process payments and app downloads under their own privacy policies
These providers may store data outside Australia, including in the United States. We may also share information if the law requires it.
Age
Flipside is intended for players aged 13 and over and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has played Flipside and shared information with us, contact us and we'll delete it.
How long we keep it
- Leaderboard entries and cloud saves are kept while you play. If you don't open the game for two years, we delete them.
- Anonymous analytics are kept for up to 14 months.
- Purchase records are kept as long as needed to restore your items and meet legal requirements.
- Progress stored on your device is removed when you delete the app.
Your choices and rights
- Leave the leaderboard or change your username at any time from the Leaderboard screen.
- Ask for a copy of your data, or for it to be deleted. Email us your player ID, found in the game's Settings, and we'll respond within 30 days.
- Limit ad tracking as described in the Ads section.
We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. Players in Europe, the UK and some US states have additional rights, including to access, correct, delete or object to the use of their information. Contact us to use any of these. If you're not happy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au, or to your local data protection authority.
Security
Information sent between the game and our services is encrypted in transit. Access to our server data is limited to us. No system is perfectly secure, so we keep what we collect to the minimum the game needs.
Changes to this policy
If we change what the game collects, we'll update this page and the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll also tell you in the game.
